Wow, this is pretty scary!

We should have seen it coming, though. People are already addicted to cell phones, iPods and the like, but those are just accessories. When people start believing that their "cyber lives" are more exciting or fulfilling than their real lives, that's just plain scary. How long will it be before the APA declares "pathological computer use" to be a bonafide psychiatric disorder?

WOW. That is scary! A 15 year old thinking 17 hours a day online is fine. He definitely needs to get out more! I'm sure it'll become an addiction just like other vices in our society. Someday soon.

Wow. That is very scary! That 15 year old needs a life...or just needs to get out of the house more often. I bet it will become an addiction for more people in society.

I'm sorry but this is just pathetic. It nice that the government stepped in to help this problem but where are the parents? Supposedly the Asian countries have stronger family ties than the USA, so why aren't the parents stepping up and curbing this behavior in their children?

One of the scenarios presented is a child playing 17 hours a day. Why didn't his parents notice this? Why didn't they step up and do something? If they're not around to witness it thats a completely different issue that also needs to be addressed.
